DINNER IN THE VINEYARD...
An experience to be (de)tasted!
Dinners in the Vineyard at our farmhouse in Montepulciano, the stars of the summer season from mid-May to mid-September, are now a regular event every Thursday at Podere La Rocca.
For the dinners in the vineyard, a single convivial table is set up, as was once done in the Tuscan peasant tradition, which will allow you to meet new people of all nationalities and spend a magical evening accompanied by good food and good wine.
In addition to (de)tasting the food, you will be able to personally meet chef Federico La Rocca, as well as the owner of Agriturismo Podere La Rocca, who with passion and attention to detail will cook for you and plate each dish right in front of your eyes.
The dinner includes a menu inspired entirely by wine, the dishes of which may vary from year to year and each course has its matching wine.
All paired wines are of our own production such as Rosso di Montepulciano La Rocca DOC (with a more delicate and light taste), Nobile di Montepulciano La Rocca DOCG (a more aged wine with a stronger taste) and our Vin Santo Podere La Rocca (a sweet fortified wine, perfect to accompany dessert).

How our Vin Santo is made
Vin Santo is the only wine that is still produced in the ancient La Rocca estate house. The production of our Vin Santo began with Chef Federico La Rocca's uncle, who passed down from generation to generation all the secrets to give Vin Santo just the right hint of sweetness and alcohol.
Vin Santo is made from 3 types of Tuscan white grapes: Trebbiano, Malvasia and Grechetto. The grapes are harvested when fully ripe and allowed to rest until December on cannicci, where the grape loses the watery part and concentrates in the sugar part.
After that, the grapes are pressed and put into small wooden barrels called "caratelli," where they remain for a minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 7. Finally, the Vin Santo is bottled and is ready to be enjoye
